In memory of
Premier Gowlaren Iamgarfield -- Georgie (70.19)
19/9 2005 - 15/6 2010

22nd of December 2005:
Ken came with me to George Gows --- our Wee Georgie (a.k.a. Gowlaren Iamgarfield) came home
December 22nd 2005 was a 100% red letter day as the Cavaliers and I travelled to Edinburgh to get my new red kitten --- a beautiful red tabby Exotic, bred by George Gow. We called into Kens en route and he came with me to make sure I found the way to Georges while Helen had the Cavaliers for the day. On the way home we stopped off at Kens and Helen provided a great supper for humans, canines and felines as well as giving Georgie the little toy white cat that stayed with him all his life and went with him in the end. So as in 1978 I once more had a lovely little red boy --- okay Gilbert was known as a ginger, but the ruby cavaliers Persee and Hetty were very taken with the new boy and obviously liked their new red pal!!!!

He quickly settled in the Travelodge and was bright and ready for the show next day.
Georgie had a red card day and as well as 1st CC & BOB he was later in the resplendent blue BOV pen.
He looked quite smart crossing the BIS table of esteemed judges.

August 18th 2009
This was a very special and worrying day for us and our Little Georgie
Off we set in the morning, Georgie and Hetty in the car and drove to Joan Smiths so she could help us find the way across Manchester and be there for Mum
We got to AMCRS and saw Dr David Crossley who already had our Vet, Kevans x-rays of Georgies jaw --- it was quickly realized that the problem had worsened and that the specialist surgery David does was very necessary and so we left little Georgie for the day!
Joan gave Mum a great lunch and then not long after 3pm we were able to go and get Georgie
(A lot of money very well spent --- but I will add a big sigh of relief for the wonders of Pet Plan!)
Once home Georgie was quiet and enjoyed his cuddles --- he also, as you can see, wanted everybody to see his IV site yellow bandage
When Kevan saw Georgie on the 26th he was most impressed with the progress
A big thank you to Joan for all the support and advice before we went to Manchester!

March 29th 2010
Georgie's previous tests did not uncover any clear reasons for his ongoing illness and he remained quite poorly and so he and Gabby had an appointment with Kevan this day. Georgie stayed in for a mountain of investigations. I collected him in the evening, and Sarah showed me the x-rays which are worrying. One test swent off to the USA. We also talked about the odd way he eats and problems with food. He still loves his Greek yogurt!
April 2010
For the few days after the investigations Georgie almost seemed worse and needed bathing/washing several times throughout a day, so after 3 days Kevan prescribed some Kaobotic and slowly it helped. The RD food was recommend but he couldnt pick it up, so I investigated and started feeding Applaws. We went along and saw Larissa and she recommended the water (cooled) from boiling rice --- at first he only took it by syringe and eventually got the idea.
May 6th 2010
Georgie remains very poorly, but is gaining a little weight with the Applaws food. He seems to enjoy that and his yogurt.
May 21st 2010

Georgie and pieces of the feline Easter egg
June 2nd 2010
Georgies condition and care continues and today we went along to get his medication. Had to sign for it as it is not yet recognised for cat treatment, but worth a try if he is to have a chance of recovering. Any further treatment can not be considered while his alimentary tract is so inflamed, etc.
My two little red boys sometimes eat near each other which is comforting

June 7th 2010
Georgie appears to be responding to the capsules and he is very good taking them. He has sat in the sunshine in the pen and watched the butterflies, etc.
June 9th 2010
Georgie seems a little less keen to eat, and continues to sleep a lot.
June 10th 2010
Georgie is less well and drinking but not eating. He has a little Lactol by syringe from me a few times a day.
June 14th 2010
Georgie seem a tiny bit more comfortable, but I fear ------------ I talked it over with Kathy and Janet at SVCC as it is quite a long time to the 2 week check up on Wednesday evening.
June 15th 2010
I made that call to SVCC during the morning coffee break at Appeals and this evening at 18.35 Kevan, the nurse and I helped my little red boy out of his pain. It was good to be able to telephone George (Gow) and have a long chat about the little lad, and other things, of course.
The last pictures show Georgie snuggled on his comfy bedding on my bed Soprano came to see him. Hetty knew and stayed home with the others so I had that last precious hour or so with my Red Prince, Pr. Gowlaren Iamgarfield to those who knew him at shows.

After I came home it seemed all the animals appeared to miss Wee Georgie.
Bless you wee Georgie, you stayed for my birthday, but then the next day we knew the time had come: Sleep well my precious little Prince and I pray that you will gamble happily in the meadows of animal heaven alongside my other animals and all our friends, but especially Ash and Finnian, with no horrid cattle illness to stop you any more.
Your place on my bed is empty just now, and Soprano and Pattie have looked for you there --- I can never forget you and all the happiness you brought me, and Ill love you for ever
